Abstract

La vigilancia de la infección meningocócica en Inglaterra y Gales se basa en tres fuentes de datos. Los médicos están obligados por ley a declarar casos de meningitis meningocócica diagnosticados clínicamente y, desde 1.989, también deben declarar casos de septicemia meningocócica (en ausencia de meningitis) al consultor local del centro de control de enfermedades transmisibles (CCDC).
