Shigella sonnei outbreak due to consumption of unpasteurised milk curds in Vilnius, Lithuania, 2004
More LessOn 7 October 2004, the Vilnius Public Health Centre reported five shigellosis cases in Vilnius, all typed as Shigellosis sonnei, to the National Centre for Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control. Preliminary patient data suggested that the infections were all acquired from unpasteurised milk curds bought from two markets in Vilnius.
